 Introduction

This month we announce an extension of our service and continue to promote the MacLeod report.

Can anyone tell me how we can rebuild the UK economy without having people work more effectively?

Do we still think that paying people astonishing bonuses produces the results we want? Rewarding people with money has failed in Banking, the Health service and how many other sectors? Time for some proper management do you think?

Perhaps we do need another National hero to galvanise us all to blood, sweat and tears.

The Great Leader this month is Sir Winston Churchill.

The Great Leader Series - Sir Winston Churchill

Sir Winston Churchill

There is no doubt that this man played a pivotal role in the conduct of Great Britain for the first half of the 20th Century.

As a leader his bon mots are legendary, and whether they were his or a scriptwriter's does miss the point. People rallied behind him at critical times.

Current Thinking - Off we go!

Statistics for the last quarter of 2009 now show the UK emerged from the recession with a tiny growth.

It is fascinating to see the difference in outlook coming out of the recession, compared to going in.
 Procrastination
Our feelings of optimism and pessimism are anisotropic. We are much more likely to take up the pessimistic view than the optimistic.

A look back at previous recessions shows just how they affect organisations. While some disappear others grow rapidly into new star performers.

We have decided to introduce a new product range aimed at these smaller businesses and organisations to support their journey to become the new stars of “The Teens” or whatever 2010 to 2019 will be called.

Our new product range, aimed at organisations employing less than fifty people, focuses on the senior people and the key strategic and operational decision making processes.

This product fits snugly between the individual mentoring package and the services for bigger organisations with fifty plus employees.

The Best Practice Forum - Engaging for growth

The MacLeod report puts some numbers to the effects of an engaged workforce.

Organisations with engaged employees give better customer service, have more satisfied customers and grow.

If you are a business you can use the extra demand to help build your Balance sheet. If you are a Not-for-Profit organisation you can use that extra capacity to serve your public fulsomely.

We have developed a simple Ready Reckoner. It looks like this.
