Motivation Matters

Frequently Asked Questions Answered

Q. What is the difference between motivation and guiding?

When you guide a subject you point them toward the right path or the right behaviour.

You can do this directly as in giving a direct instruction or obliquely by asking if the merits of a particular action have been considered.

But the emphasis is on an external agent guiding the subject.

Motivation is quite different. Motivation is something only the subject can create for him or herself.

Motivation comes from inner feelings, albeit those feelings are inflenced by the external environment.

In our work we guide the organisation and its people managers to create a more satisfying work environment. The employees, the people then motivate themselves to achieve greater things.
